Review: Preserved lemons are a must-have for making tagines, and useful for adding to couscous amongst other ingredients, imparting a wonderful citrus quality without the harshness of fresh lemon. Really they're not all that hard to make yourself it seems, but do take a considerable while to attain a usable state and so bought ones are rather convenient. TheBelazu Preserved Lemons are a bit larger than these, but these Al'fez ones are a bit nicer in taste, but there's not a lot in it to be honest. Although more expensive weight for weight than Belazu, if you don't use bought preserved lemons a lot these smaller sized jars may possibly be better as I have found them once opened to go off after while even if kept in the fridge.
