Description: AWARD-WINNING TASTE Our organic oats are grown in beautiful and wild Scotland where unspoiled nature, the long summer sun and fertile soils conspire to create tasty oats with an exceptional nutritional profile. Our oats were previously stone-milled in the last mill of it's kind. Unfortunately, the mill burned down. It's the same great taste oats being processed in a new mill. Nothing has changed! KILN-DRIED FOR FLAVOUR Oats need 'stabilising' to prevent them turning rancid in storage. Traditional kiln-drying uses a dry heat to warm the oats creating a nutty flavour. In time, 'kilning' was replaced by a faster 'pressure steam' process which can lose soluble ingredients. DELICIOUS & NUTRITIOUS Oats are a good source of soluble fibre. Oats naturally contain beta-glucan which helps lower cholesterol. These oats are full of essential nutrients and milled from whole grains. There is strong evidence that people with healthy heart tend to eat more wholegrain foods as part of a healthy lifestyle * Oat beta-glucan has been shown to lower blood cholesterol. High cholesterol is a risk factor in the development of coronary heart disease. Our porridge has won Great Taste Award! Gluten free, Dairy free.

Review: Delighted to find another great product from Alara. Always seek or organic and I've enjoyed various muesli products, but so far had not tried the porridge oats. They are smooth to eat easy to use for hot porridge and they make great chocolate cookies! Extra ++, compostable and recyclable packaging.
