Description: Ecozone Ecoballs 1000 are an innovative alternative to your usual laundry detergents, be they liquids or tablets. How do they work? It's simple; the secure spherical casing with lock mechanism is filled with two types of small pellets that are made from a formulation of natural minerals and other cleaning agents. All you'll need to do is place the Ecoball filled with pellets into your washing machine along with your clothes and that's it! Easy! The pellets then get to work, lifting dirt from the material and working to keep the water soft to ensure an effective clean. The green Ecozone Ecoballs 1000 are fragrance-free, Allergy UK approved, Hypoallergenic and residue-free, therefore are kind to your skin too. To further add to their eco-credentials, Ecoballs effectively clean on cool temperatures and can be used without a rinse cycle, which can help to cut down on water and wash time. Hypoallergenic & suitable for sensitive skin Gentle on fabrics - suitable for whites & colours Effective eco-friendly laundry detergent alternative.

Review: I've used Ecoballs for over 10 years and they are excellent - they last me about six months and i love that they are non scented (though you can buy scented ones these days). The design has changed over the years which is good as previously they were difficult to open, and indeed my last one were less than two years old but the part which opened broke which was very disappointing. As I had just ordered more refills I decided i just had to buy this new version (one large ball rather than 2 or 3 smaller ones). I had read reviews about them opening during wash which seems to be a design flaw, but I thought surely they won't still be selling them if they do this?! I was wrong - after just five 30oC washes we opened the washing machine to find every pellet loose in the machine!!!!! It was a right pain to get them all out, and out of all the clothes. We noticed when we put it back together that the bit you push to open (before you unscrew it) no longer seemed to click into place - despite only having been used once to fill it originally). Presumably this is the design flaw. So as no one wants to throw away more plastic we have tried the trick another reviewer mentioned (thank you) (also with their photos which helped a lot - use three cable ties to tie the ball halves together. The ties will go through the holes but you need tweezers to pull through, so it is fiddly. But once done (with the three ties evenly spaced out) it won't need to be opened until the next refill. However not a perfect solution and very disappointing this needs to be done.
