Review: I bought this as a present for my step-father living in Ukraine. Royal mail opened the parcel and confiscated this product on the basis that it is a "potentially dangerous product". They did not take the "Pro-raso" after-shave balm which was also in the parcel. They returned the open parcel to the sender rather than sending it on, thus making me lose about 50 pounds (the cost of sending I have already incurred was 10 pounds, resending will be about the same, and the cost of the product they took out was about 30 pounds). The letter from Royal Mail has no ref number, and there is no appeal procedure or compensation. So think twice if you want to buy this to send it to a loved one via Royal Mail. (I left a 5 star rating even though I have no idea how good it is, but that's no reason to downgrade the product. Hope Royal Mail people are enjoying it.)

Review: As a shaving balm this works a treat and does sooth and cool your skin after a shave if you suffer from irritation. My gripe with it is the smell, which I find reminiscent of 1950s medicated treatments and very offputting. There is even hint of having rubbed Izal toilet 'paper' over your face! So despite its effectiveness as a balm I'd have to say I won't buy another bottle and will only use this when I need to do so. If you don't mind the smell then it will be fine - though obviously that's hard to check before you buy. Lots of the other reviews don't have an issue with the smell but it will come down to personal preferrence. Practically, I'd also have to say that the glass bottle is a bad idea for modern bathrooms as you will be worried about dropping it into the sink or knocking it onto the tiled floor. A squeezy plastic bottle would be much better.
