Moisturising and Soothing Diabetic Products

People with diabetes need specially formulated diabetic products specifically designed for the skin.  If you have diabetes and suffer from continual dryness or itchiness of the skin, you need strong moisturises that are formulated specifically for your condition.  Everyday lotions and creams do not always deliver the best results to diabetics because of the dehydration and fluctuating blood glucose levels in your body.

Some of the most common problem areas of the body that experience dryness are hands, feet, and joints that experience chafing from clothes or other friction.  Your skin dries out very fast and can lead to peeling, cracking of the skin, and even rashes.  Keep these areas moisturised with strong and gentle diabetic products which deliver the much needed moisture to your skin.  These moisturizes will help prevent your skin from drying out and causing you pain or itching.

There are a few things you can do to help increase the effectiveness of moisturising diabetic products.  When you do experience rashes or itchiness, refrain from scratching these areas.  Because your skin is susceptible to dehydration, scratching your fragile skin can cause it to break, which leads to worse rashes, sores, or even infections.  You can keep your body moisturised before you start to feel the irritating symptoms of dry skin.  Pay attention to your hands and feet, underarms, groin area, behind your knees or elbows, or any other places of your body that typically experience rubbing from clothes.

The best time to moisturise is right after washing.  Dry your skin gently first, then apply the diabetic products immediately to seal in the extra moisture that is in your skin at this time.  You can also reapply the creams as needed during the day to combat the symptoms of pain and itchiness that can be associated with dehydrated skin.  Of course you should also monitor your glucose levels to help reduce the effects of diabetic induced skin problems.
