Description: Peppermint has a light, refreshing and a clear minty aroma. This oil is especially good for digestive problems and to refresh a tired mind, hence great for concentration and study. Try adding 4 drops to a bowl of warm water for a wonderfully refreshing footbath. Also a good insect repellent, use in a burner or diffuser, or add 10 drops to a plant spray filled with water -shake well and spray the room & bedding, etc. (Avoid polished wood - may cause bleaching of fabric). Main Theraputic Properties: Analgesic, Antibacterial, Anticatarrhal, Anti-inflammatory, Antispasmodic, Digestive stimulant, Insect repellent. Method of Extraction: Steam distillation from the leaves of the herb. Did you know? Acknowledged as the best quality Peppermint available, English Peppermint is at the luxury end of the market. The normal American mentha piperita tends to go into products such as toothpaste and confectionery. English peppermint (also known as Mitcham Peppermint) is used for after-dinner mints and mint liqueurs. It is a much smoother, fuller and more rounded oil than the standard product. It has an unusually high content of methylesters (giving excellent body and sweetness) and a modest content of the bitter tasting ketone, Menthone. Caution: Do not use Peppermint during the first 4 months of pregnancy and with care thereafter. Absolute Aromas Peppermint English, 10ml - shop the best deal online on thehealthfoodshop.net

Review: This is my second bottle of this. Love the scent. I have been using it to make homemade/ natural air freshener in an old Febreeze bottle. Also been using this to keep away spiders and other bugs. I half fill the bottle with water and add about 20+ drops to it, shake it up and use it. If I want a stronger scent, I add more. Sometimes I even mix in other essential oils like grapefruit or lavender. It seems to have been working! I just wish it was bigger but it’s worth it.

Review: This English version smells nothing like the fresh sweet peppermint aroma I expected. It has a sharp, bitter aroma and smells quite unpleasant when sniffing it straight from the bottle. When burning in a candle burner with water, the smell is no better. It just doesn't create a pleasant aroma like traditional peppermint smell. The US grown version of peppermint in the Absolute Aromas range smells exactly like the traditional peppermint smell. It most come from a different type of peppermint plant. I burn peppermint oil every morning to freshen the house and help clear my sleepy head, it is great for aiding concentration. A visitor always comments on how lovely it smells, but today she said 'what's that bad smell' when entering the house. I have written off the £5 and purchased the US version instead - this version went in the bin. If you are used to a peppermint essential oil that really smells like peppermint, this is not the best version. Absolute Aromas also sell a US version on Amazon that is exactly the fresh peppermint aroma expected. I have used that many times and highly recommend it. I thought I was being good by 'buying British' - my mistake!
